Chief Wood (left) has served as a law enforcement officer in this area for over three decades and he is a Graduate of the University of Mount Olive and N.C. Wesleyan College. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology, as well as a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. He is a member of the Alpha Phi Sigma Criminal Justice Honor Society. In addition to serving as Chief of Magnolia Police Department since November of 2021, he is an Adjunct Professor in Criminal Justice – N.C. Wesleyan College. He also maintains certification as a Reserve Officer with the Wallace Police Department.
Captain Holliday (right) is in his third decade as a law enforcement officer. Before coming to Magnolia, he was a Supervisor with the Mount Olive Police Department. In addition to serving an administrative role with the Magnolia Police Department, Captain Holliday is in charge of Code Enforcement in the Town of Magnolia.

Lisa A. Horning
Officer Lisa A. Horning is in her second decade as a law enforcement officer. She serves with Magnolia Police Department in a part-time capacity. Lisa is a highly skilled investigator and patrol officer. She currently serves as a full-time Detective with the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office.

Officer Jose Flores
Officer Jose Flores is a lifetime resident of the Magnolia Area. He is very dedicated to serving and protecting Magnolia. After completing Basic Training at James Sprunt Community College, he applied for a position with the Magnolia Police Department. He became a member of the department in 2024 as a part-time officer. Ofc. Flores says he did not apply anywhere else because he lives here and this is where he wants to serve and protect his fellow citizens. In 2026, Ofc. Flores transitioned to a full time status. He is a very bright and friendly young officer who loves helping others. We feel that he has an amazing future in law enforcement ahead of him!
