About the Plan
The Town of Magnolia is preparing a Land-Use Plan for the Magnolia planning jurisdiction. Administrative staff and the Planning Board are working to draft a final document that will serve as a comprehensive plan for future public investment. The Land-Use Plan will identify goals, policies, and initiatives to achieve the community’s vision for Magnolia’s development.

Community input is a crucial component of the planning process. The Town of Magnolia’s Land-Use Plan began with a survey to collect community input, gauging citizens’ needs and preferences as they relate to development, housing, the environment, infrastructure, and recreation. Administrative staff and the Planning Board seek to balance the community’s vision for the Town with preservation and growth demands. The Magnolia community will have several opportunities to provide thoughts and comments regarding the Land-Use Plan and its content, including an upcoming public hearing held by the Planning Board and a separate public hearing held by the Board of Commissioners prior to approval of the Plan.
We encourage you to attend these public hearings and join some of the 40+ Magnolia residents who have shared their perspectives as we plan for a thriving future for the Town. The public hearing time and date, once announced, will be featured on our website’s home page calendar, the Town’s Facebook page, and the Duplin Times.
To learn more about the Land-Use Plan, consider attending the Planning Board’s Regular Meetings on May 5th and June 2nd!
